Swiss and French, the artist Louise Laffaille was born in 1988.
Her work aims to stirringly and truthfully measure the moods of nature.

After her BA in visual art at ECAL, she received a training in Asian water color at the Art Student League of New York during 4 years.

Concerned and fascinated by the importance of water on our planet, her new series RAIN PAINTINGS and WAVES PAINTINGS, integrate the uncontrollable aspect of these natural elements in her creative process. Rain drops, sea waves, are marking themselves into her paintings, capturing a moment, a trace of this blue gold.

In those series, the brush-strokes often get erased under the rain, the confluence takes place between the force and delicacy of water and the gesture of painting. In this artistic approach, the natural elements can almost speak for themselves in the space of painting.

Her work has been shown in New York and Europe, recently at Galerie Telmah in Rouen, Galerie Univers Lausanne, Art 345 New York and at First Street Gallery where she won the National Jury Competition . In France she won the artist residency at the Castle of La Napoule where her work was exhibited .She is represented by the gallery Amélie Maison d’Art, Paris 9e, and Françoise Durst, Paris 16e
