About
Louise Laffaille (b. 1988) is a Swiss-French visual artist whose work investigates water as both material and collaborator. Through direct interaction with rain, waves, and atmospheric conditions, she allows natural elements to shape the surface of the painting, creating a dialogue between environmental forces and human gesture.
Educated at ECAL ( Switzerland) and later trained in Asian watercolor at the Art Students League of New York, she also studied in the studio of Ronnie Landfield, a key figure of the Color Field movement.
She embraces a process of letting go, guided by an elemental and meditative approach that channels nature’s energy. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including in New York, France, and Switzerland, and she was recently invited to the Watercolor Biennale in Taiwan.
She is the recipient of the 2026 Visual Arts Prize of the City of Rouen, France and has won several artist residencies at the La Napoule Art Fondation, France.
